Setting the transparency of Culture and Goals ratings

Depending on how transparent your company culture is, you might want to allow employees to see everyone's rating feedback, or only aggregated data, or only their own data. We've created transparency settings for each of these scenarios to suit your culture.

Note: These settings pertain to conventional ratings. You can set the transparency for Pulses each time you create a pulse survey (more info here).

Step 1

Go to your Settings tab, under Company Settings, or go here.



Step 2

Make sure Ratings (under the Enabled heading) are toggled on, as well as Goals - roles and/or Culture - values (under the Measure heading).



Step 3: Choose transparency setting



Choose one of the three transparency settings, depending on how much you want your employees to be able to see:

Open: an employee will have access to the details of who said what, about everyone (full transparency). Learn more.
Medium: an employee will have limited access to the Reports section, which will show other employees and aggregates (but no details on who said what). Learn more.
Closed (default setting): an employee will be able to see how they have rated themselves and how others have rated them. This comes up as percentages in their My Status tab - they don't see the names or ratings of others. Learn more.
My Comments: Toggled on, an employee will be able to see not only their own results but also the comments left by their co-workers. These comments will appear as anonymous to the employee.

Don't forget to click Update Settings once you're done!

Good to know: as an Admin, you always see all the ratings data about everyone in the Reports section. Similar to the Admin, the Line Manager sees all the ratings data, but only about the co-workers they have been assigned to manage. Learn more about Permissions & views here.
